ATTENTION: We are pleased to announce that we are re-opening June 15, 2020.

Re-opening Yorkdale Dental Centre and Safety Protocol

We are happy to announce that our office will re-open June 15 for all services (but are open until then on a limited basis for emergencies).  We are working diligently to make sure all appointments that were previously cancelled due to the partial closure will be re-booked.

We thank you for your continued patience!

Please note: office hours will be reduced / modified temporarily.

Here’s how we will be changing to ensure both your safety and our team’s safety:

1) Pre-screening will be done over the phone or online prior to the appointment day.

2) Your temperature will be taken upon arrival.

3) Respect all Social Distancing Guidelines:

a) Sanitize hands upon entry and exit.

b) Please come to the office with a mask and wear it at all times except for the appointment.

c) Maintain a 2 metre distance from other persons.

4) A Medical Update/Consent Form will be filled out by you and the Dentist / Hygienist treating you.

5) All tablets, toys and magazines have been removed.

6) Due to current circumstances, no family members may accompany a patient in the operatory during treatment (this includes parents of children).

7) Unless it’s absolutely necessary to accompany a patient upstairs, all family or friends that arrive with a patient will be asked to wait in their car or out in the mall/building lobby until the appointment is complete.

We know this is temporary and we thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation! We are in this together.

Dear Valued Patients,

We received notification from our governing body the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario that due to the Covid-19 pandemic effective March 16, 2020 all dental offices are to suspend all elective and non-essential dental treatment, and only see patients for urgent care. The RCDSO will revisit this recommendation in the first week of April.

If during this time, and if you have an acute issue which requires urgent care, classified as, severe pain, swelling, bleeding and/or dental trauma then please contact Dr. Shadi Ghanaat-Bajgiran directly on her cell at (416) 930-0258 for further instruction.

Please note that if you have travelled anywhere outside of Canada in the last 30 days and/or,have any flu/cold like symptoms and/or, you have been in contact with a possible or probable case of COVID-19 and/or, in contact with a person with acute respiratory illness who has travelled outside of Canada in the last 30 days, then you will be referred to The Mount Sinai Hospital Dental Department.

Please understand these are extreme circumstances and we are hopeful that the action taken by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario will be effective in flattening the curve of the progression of COVID-19. We understand this can be frustrating and disappointing for patients who want to complete treatment, but the circumstances are extreme and out of our control.

We are committed to the utmost health and safety of our patients, our team, and our community. As we receive further instruction from the RCDSO we will update our patients. We look forward to continuing to make people smile very soon.

Please stay healthy, socially responsible, and vigilant in our fight against the pandemic.
The entire Yorkdale Dental Centre family.

ATTENTION: COVID-19 UPDATE (Coronavirus) March 13, 2020

Dear Valued Patients,

Our patients’ and team’s health, welfare, and safety are always paramount at Yorkdale Dental Centre. Although we follow stringent protocols and procedures set forth by our governing body, Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and Toronto Public Health, we are now taking even additional and more extreme measures and precautions during this global Coronavirus (Covid19) pandemic.

From the onset on the Coronavirus, we have been closely monitoring the guidance of the World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and Toronto Public Health regarding the spread of the virus. Our focus is to ensure we meet our patients’ needs while doing our part to keep you, our staff and our communities safe. In addition, we have been screening all persons who enter the office. What does this mean?

– We screen all patients and those accompanying them to the office before their appointment.

– We screen all unknown visitors to our office at the door.

– All delivery persons are also screened.

Based on the results of the screening, patients will either be cleared and be able to attend their appointment OR WE WILL CANCEL their appointment and instruct them on the proper and necessary measures. It is difficult to distinguish between regular cold/flu symptoms versus Coronavirus symptoms without testing, and for this reason, we do not book anyone who presents with any symptoms. For our patients’ peace of mind, these screening measures apply to all our staff as well.

We want to be safe and protected just as much as you want to be safe and protected. We continue to monitor, adapt and conform as does the situation. We truly appreciate the trust that you place in us as Healthcare providers. We also appreciate our patients’ honesty during the screening process.

We look forward to seeing you and we want to reassure you that we are taking all precautions necessary to promote a safe and healthy environment.

Working to keep us all healthy and safe with a smile,

Yorkdale Dental Centre
